Barranco Oscuro (Manuel Valenzuela) is the pioneer of natural wines in Spain, growing organically 12 hectares of high altitude vineyards with the summit being 1368m above sea level. These vineyards, with poor soils of schists and with low rainfall, are the highest in the whole of Europe naturally grown, without chemicals and no irrigation.
The winemaking consists on natural fermenting of the grape's juice without adding yeast, sulphur or any other oenological trick.
